The Dangers of Baccarat Strategy Books
Many strategy books for playing Baccarat offer a wide range of strategies one can use in order to win the game. Unfortunately, most of these so called strategies are either outdated and no longer work, or have no real basis at all and have never worked. A good example of this is the fact that most Baccarat strategy books mention card counting as an effective strategy for playing Baccarat. While it is true that card counting is an effective strategy in card games like Blackjack, it does not work on Baccarat. While the Baccarat game appears to be quite comparable to Blackjack, many of the cards get put back into the deck before more are taken out. This makes counting worthless and eliminates the effect it does have in Blackjack. If this is not enough, unlike Blackjack, in most cases a player is not allowed to change the bet while playing. All things considered, this strategy does not work for Baccarat players at all.
Another strategy that does not work for Baccarat is the so called Martingale system. This system works on the notion that if you keep doubling your bet eventually you will win, and because of the doubling of the bet each time, that win ensures the player recoups all losses sustained from previous games. The theory behind this system is sound, and it is actually fool proof. There is no defense against it but online Casinos catching on to this system simply added new rules for the games, putting limits on the maximum amount a player can bet. This in turn eliminates the chances of winning using the Martingale system. Though outdated and already rendered worthless many Baccarat strategy books still promote this system as being an effective means to win.
To further exterminate the Martingale treat, casinos also put table maximums in place along with maximum bets a player can put on one hand. These days for the Martingale system to work at all the player needs to get the win before exceeding the maximum amount which adds a large luck factor to this system rendering it worthless as a fool proof means to win a game, and at the same time adds considerable risk for the player who may never recoup from sustained losses. In other words, no matter what the Baccarat strategy books are stating, it no longer works so don’t fall for it.
After all this, the logical question would be: Are there any strategies for playing Baccarat that do work? The answer is only one. When one looks at the patterns and performs an analysis on the numbers, it will show that bets almost always work favorably when betting on the banker. Though this is a betting system that provides little excitement it is a sound one that may work.
Any of these so called Baccarat strategies like pattern spotting or streak spotting are worthless and do not work. Therefore take caution if after all this you still want to apply any strategies mentioned in baccarat strategy books.
